A War of Titans: Peace of Mind

In the year 2143 S.C. (Standard Calendar), over a century after the unification of the entire Pangaean continent by the Oligarchic Republic of Saeola, sectional tensions were high. Due to a dispute between the Union Party - supporters of the Saeolan Oligarchic system and of the Council of Electors, elected for life by the people, and from among whom votes would be cast and a president of the entire Republic chosen, and who also elected subcommittees of their own members to form a judicial branch, they themselves serving as the legislative office when not occupied with judicial or executive duties - and the Intellectual Party - revolutionary thinkers who would have reformed the entire government system so only those of a pure Saeolan heritage and bloodline could hold office, and would have special privileges not given to half-breeds between the Saeolan race and other inhabitant cultures of Pangaea - the country split. After a closely watched election, the Union Party won a majority in the Council, causing the outraged Intellectuals, seeing their ideology about to be outlawed, to protest corruption in the very system the Unionists favored, and to secede, taking almost half the Saeolan Republic's states with them. A bitterly fought civil war began, the new Confederacy of Purebloods attempting to force the change in regime it desired when political means failed. Evenly matched in economy, industry, technology and manpower, the war dragged on for decades, neither side winning any definitive victories, and both sides suffering truly staggering losses, over a hundred thousand soldiers dying in almost every battle. Entire states were laid waste by this conflict, the once fertile Saeolan and Confederate lands turned into a rubble-strewn wasteland by the constant bombings and entrenchments, famine spreading across the countryside as stockpiles of food were plundered to feed the troops of both sides. It seemed like this hellish conflict would go on forever, until an unexpected discovery changed everything.

This discovery was the creation of the Operators: artificially created Human girls with incredible intellectual potential. Treated as objects rather than people, the Operators were soon employed in research efforts throughout both sides. However, their abilities gave them the skills they needed to do more than just weapons research.

And so began Project Titan: an attempt to create a new type of combat unit that would revolutionize warfare. These giant, heavily armored units would be piloted by the best of the best, while their onboard systems systems would be placed under the competent control of the Operators. And so, a war unlike any other began, a war that would determine the fate of the entire Pangaean continent...
