(Durham, NC) Manbites Dog Theater presents The New Electric Ballroom by Enda Walsh, running February 21 to March 9.

In The New Electric Ballroom, three sisters ? Breda, Clara, and Ada ? are trapped by old memories: party dresses, rock and roll, and that night long ago at the New Electric Ballroom. Join their mad tea party of sponge cake, confessions, and regret, in a lyrical and heartbreaking comic fable from one of Ireland?s most original new playwrights.

Playwright Enda Walsh, a 2012 Tony Award winner, won the 2010 Obie Award for Playwriting in honor of The New Electric Ballroom. Other credits include the play Disco Pigs, and the current Broadway musical Once.

Tickets

Tickets are $17 Friday-Sunday, $12 Wednesday/Thursday. Student tickets are $5 with ID, and Seniors (62+) and Military receive a $2 discount. Manbites Dog Season Vouchers are accepted for all shows.

Thursday, February 21 is Pay-What-You-Can. (Door sales only, $5 minimum.)

Artists
The New Electric Ballroom is directed by Manbites Dog Theater?s Artistic Director Jeff Storer. The cast features Marcia Edmundson, Lenore Field, Katja Hill, and Derrick Ivey.

The production team also includes Michael O?Foghludha (Dramaturg/Dialect Coach); Michael Brocki (Technical Director); Derrick Ivey (Set and Costume Design); Chuck Catotti (Lighting Design); Marc Maximov (Sound Design); Michael Faber (Graphic Design); Jon Haas (Video); and Tim Scales (Marketing/PR).
